Course Delivery & Content

The Introductory Diploma is delivered, on a part-time basis, through a series of five workshops where you will study with other individuals involved in place-related industries.

Course Fee

The Introductory Diploma in Place Management fee is £1000.

The course modules for the Introductory Diploma are as follows;

Place and Stakeholder Focus, and Induction

●       Your role in relation to your partnership’s goals and its clients, customers and
         stakeholders
●       The core principles of marketing
●       Political, economic, social and technological factors affecting places,
         communities and partnerships

Meeting Stakeholders Needs & Monitoring and Evaluation

●       The key information you need as a place manager and how best to obtain it
●       How information is used to aid decision making
●       The main methods of communication, including presenting information and
          facilitating meetings
●       The main legal and organisational requirements relating to the handling of
          information
●       How to conduct, analyse and use a stakeholder analysis

Partnerships and People & Achieving Results Through Others

●       Why and how people learn and the importance of people development in improving
         partnership effectiveness and the range of development activities available
●       Characteristics of and management techniques for effective partnerships

Visioning and Planning & Structures and Systems

●       How to plan to meet requirements and monitor progress
●       The importance of effective resource management
●       The range and use of physical and financial resources
●       The recruitment and selection process
●       The main methods for specifying requirements and selecting personnel
●       business plans for place management partnerships and the relationship between visions,
         strategies and action plans

Anticipating and Adapting to Change & Maximising Resources

●       The importance of health and safety and key principles for promoting a proactive
         and safe working environment, taking account of the main legal requirements
●       The meaning and importance of quality and the core quality concepts
●       The importance of continuous improvement, the need for change and how people
         respond to change
●       Different types of partnership structures
●       Strategy-led financing
