IPM Conference opens
Wednesday, 13 February 2013The IPM Conference (and 3rd International Place Branding Conference) opened today in the new £75 million Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. The opening day has featured a Research Colloquium and a Masterclass on Principles of Place Management that has explored the connection between global trends and local planning.
The Masterclass attracted participants from around the world and was led by the joint Conference Chairs, Professor Cathy Parker and Dr Ares Kalandides with a practitioner session from Simon Quin of the Institute of Place Management.
The main conference opens this evening with a keynote address from Rob Hopkins, the co-founder of the Transition Network who has practical experience from Transition Town Totnes.
The day also includes a meeting of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Place Management and Development which is hosted by Emerald.
