Individual Membership

Becoming an individual member of IPM (Friend+, Associate, Member, or Fellow)

It is important that you demonstrate enough experience and qualifications for us to find the right level for you, therefore we ask that you take our Membership Diagnostic to assess your skills before applying.
Once you have assessed your level, please use the appropriate link below to begin the process of becoming a member of IPM.

Having established the level of membership which is right for you, there are two stages to the process:

STEP 1 - REGISTER FOR AN IPM ACCOUNT

Before you can submit an application for membership, you will first need to register for an IPM account. This is a quick and easy process that should only take a couple of minutes. Once your account is set up, you will be emailed your login details, and given 30 days free access to IPM, during which time you should complete your membership application.

STEP 2 - SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP

Once you have registered for your IPM account and completed the diagnostic to establish your recommended level of membership, you can apply to join us at your recommended level in one of two ways. The fastest and easiest method is to complete and submit an online application using the appropriate link below. The process is split into five easy steps and should take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Please note, all applications must be accompanied by your assessment fee (£90). You can pay this online, or request an invoice. Your application will not be assessed until the assessment fee has been paid.

Once the assessment fee has been paid, we will then review your application. Our aim is to do this as quickly as possible, though at busy times this can take up to 4 weeks.

As part of the assessment process, we may request further information to support your application.

Once your application has been approved, you will be invited to pay your membership fee. When the membership fee is received, you will become a member of the Institute of Place Management, joining the global community of people dedicated to making better places.
