#Indiehour to focus on our ‘5 ways to save the struggling high street’ article

Our InnovateUK-funded ‘Bringing Big Data to Small Users’ project is testing the concept of collaboration on the High Street. In particular, it is finding new ways for retailers, local authorities and other stakeholders to work together to improve the customer experience in specific locations. From our previous research we know that retailers have not always been very well networked, at the local level, meaning collective initiatives to make improvements fail – or never even get started.

So it’s great to see the enthusiasm with which independent retailers have embraced #IndieHour. #Indiehour Founded and hosted by Richard Shorney, brings small independent businesses together for an hour of informal banter, chat and sharing ideas and best practice. It regularly gets a reach of 400k people a week and is gaining huge momentum! You can find Richard on Twitter @retailmentoring

Richard wants IPM members to get involved in a special #IndieHour which will focus on our recent ‘5 ways to save the struggling high street’ article, as changing activity hours, diversifying the offer, improving appearance, developing a vision and strategy, and the customer experience are all factors that involve retailers and place managers working together.

Please put a reminder in your diary – 8pm, Tuesday 15th May #IndieHour, take 5 minutes to read the article  and we look forward to you joining the debate!
