Post-COVID recovery framework webinar series

COVID-19 is the cause of the biggest disruption to social and economic life most of us will have ever experienced. Priorities have changed almost overnight to focus on keeping as many people safe as possible from the virus. The unprecedented measures needed to do this are having an enormous impact on businesses and communities. We know many of our members are directly involved in coordinating the emergency or immediate response, in towns, cities and neighbourhoods around the world. From getting grants to businesses, and food to people; from keeping empty properties secure to organising parking for medical workers, professional place managers are doing what they do best - working in partnership, solving problems and making a difference.

Many of our academic members too are supporting places - through turning the focus of their research to investigating the crisis and scenario planning for what might come next.

The Post-COVID recovery framework

In order to assist place managers who are responsible with the gargantuan task of supporting their cities and towns through this pandemic, we have developed a COVID-19 framework (see image above). The framework calls for systematic analysis of data, coordination, collective leadership and management of our towns and cities through a series of preparedness, response, and recovery measures.

Over the coming weeks we are offering continuing professional development (CPD) tailored to support the 4-stage IPM post-COVID framework for recovery.

The CPD will be offered as a webinar programme over 5 weeks. Each one-hour webinar will focus on one stage of the framework (crisis, pre-recovery, recovery, and transformation) - with the first webinar explaining the framework in the COVID-19 context.

This series has now finished, however members can watch all the webinars back via our members area. Watch the video below to find out more:
