Increasingly UK towns and cities face a tipping point; they require a long-term commitment to funding, skills, and place leadership to meet the challenge of reinventing their local spaces and economies.

Mature model for local growth

In the 20 years since legislation enabled their establishment, over 330 Business Improvement Districts have been formed and present a mature model to drive local growth. Increasingly the sector works across agencies, local government, private sector partners and other specific interests like developers, land owners and community groups.

In order to create a lasting legacy for place regeneration and resilience in the UK, these partnerships must set transformational visions that will guide the development of each unique town and city. However, challenges continue to appear on the horizon; local government finances, lack of housing, slowing productivity and investment, ‘static’ populations, stubborn crime figures and perceptions of safety.

Join leading UK BIDs from, influential businesses, and place thinkers to discuss how local partnerships work best, how they need to evolve, and what lessons we can draw from 20 years’ of Business Improvement Districts.

Leadership Network

Join the 'Growth through Partnership' event alongside leading Business Improvement Districts to:

  • Directly inform the BID Foundation Manifesto for UK BIDs, published in an important election year, setting out the impact of the sector and how it can drive forward towns and cities across the four nations.
    .
  • Be part of long-form and interactive discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing your place; with on-the-day outputs to take back into your role, and echoed 'up the chain' to regional and national policy makers.

  • Hear from senior and influential speakers that will set the scene for a delegate-focused event and respond to your own issues.

  • Form relationships wiith colleagues in the BID sector for ongoing knowledge sharing and support.

  • Take your personal development further and raise the profile of your own work in a UK forum, visible to key BID leaders and government and opposition figures.
